A message from our Executive Director

I want to begin this message with lots of gratitude for the amazing journey and incredible support of our partners and donors. As I reflect on the last four years as Executive Director of this remarkable organization, the pride of what we have been able to accomplish; creating a stronger community, supporting more women, and creating economic opportunities for individuals with limited resources and unlimited potential, has been transformational.

From the moment I stepped into this organization I believed in our mission: to empower women from all walks of life; break down barriers, and create opportunities for families and communities through access to our vital resources, tools, and services. The impact of volunteers, partners, community members, donors, board, and staff working together to create social change is awe-inspiring, as can be seen through the many moving success stories of our clients. And what better way to recognize these accomplishments, and celebrate 10 years of success with you, than on Thursday, October 10 at Le Salon Richmond for La Soirée étincELLE

Before jumping to what lies ahead though, a quick reflection on the summer months. A second move in less than two years to a larger space, welcoming new volunteers and partners, the planning of our first job skills development for young women – Conférenc’ELLES, and of course, the dedicated planning for our spectacular Gala – La Soirée étincELLE celebrating our 10-year anniversary.

Staff enjoyed some much-needed time off and returning to work refreshed and energized. We welcomed Clodie Durand, our summer student who has been very hands on and a wonderful addition to the team, and wished Nezli Mostefai best of luck as she returned to France after being with us for over a year.

We know the exponentially positive impact that full and equal employment for women has on the economy, generational wealth development, and social cohesion in communities. Dress for Success Montréal is focused on supporting marginalized and low-income women, and our programs and services explicitly address the need due to the increasing numbers of those who have lost their jobs and are looking for new employment. As our organization continues to seek new opportunities while staying true to our values and mission, we will be working diligently with staff, clients and partner organizations to ensure that our strategic plan appropriately defines our direction and goals.

I want to extend a heartfelt thank you, to each one of you for the ongoing support and dedication you have shown towards our cause over the last decade. Thanks to your trust and patronage, Dress for Success Montréal continues to stay focused on offering innovative programming and vital resources to our clients.

We look forward to your continued support and to welcome you at our new location.

Help change their lives, TOGETHER.

Sincerely,

Sophie Katz-Milo, Executive Director
